Bey Battle Pass (BX-09): the complete guide

The Bey Battle Pass is TAKARA TOMY’s official Beyblade X accessory that measures your shoot power. This page covers what it is, how to set it up, how to fix connection problems, batteries, price, and the apps that work with it.

What is the Bey Battle Pass?

The Bey Battle Pass (product code BX-09) attaches to a Beyblade X launcher and measures the shoot power of every launch, sending the number to your phone over Bluetooth. TAKARA TOMY released it in Japan on 2023-07-15 at ¥3,300 (tax included).

It is an add-on, not a launcher: you still need a Beyblade X launcher, a Beyblade, and a stadium (sold separately). It is sold by TAKARA TOMY in Japan and Asia; elsewhere it is usually imported.

How to use and connect it

  1. Attach the Bey Battle Pass to your launcher grip and switch it on — the green light comes on.
  2. Hold the button for about 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  3. Open the app with Bluetooth on and tap Connect. BeyGear scans and connects automatically; no account needed.
  4. Launch. The shoot power (SP) of each launch appears instantly and is recorded.

Any BX-09 version works, including the ones bundled in sets.

Which app should I use?

TAKARA TOMY’s official app turns launch data into Bey Points for its in-app games. BeyGear is a free, unofficial companion focused on measurement: real-time SP, every launch logged automatically, personal bests, a global leaderboard, launch analytics (acceleration, initial speed, decay), and an Apple Watch app.

Only one app can hold the Bluetooth connection at a time — close one before connecting with the other.

Batteries

It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries, which are not included. BeyGear displays an estimated battery level after connecting and reminds you when it is time to change them.

FAQ

What does shoot power (SP) mean?

SP is the number the Bey Battle Pass reports for a launch: how hard you launched, measured at the launcher. It varies with the launcher, the Bey, and your technique. Note that string launchers can read slightly high because of the rewind bounce.

Do I need the official app?

No. The Bey Battle Pass talks over standard Bluetooth LE, so BeyGear connects to it directly, without an account. Use the official app when you want TAKARA TOMY’s Bey Points and games.

How much is it and where can I buy it?

The Japanese list price is ¥3,300 (tax included). It is sold through TAKARA TOMY’s retail channels in Japan and Asia; outside Asia it is mostly available as an import.

Which batteries does it use?

Two AAA alkaline batteries, sold separately.

Does it work with iPad and Android?

Yes. Any iPhone, iPad, or Android phone with Bluetooth LE works with BeyGear.

Do I need it to play Beyblade X?

No. It is an optional accessory for measuring and recording your launches.

How do I turn it off?

Use the power switch on the unit. Disconnect in the app first if you want the session saved cleanly.
